Returns and changing your mind
In force from: 19.08.2026
Two different things can bring you here: you have changed your mind, or something is wrong with what arrived. They are separate rights and this page keeps them separate — the first is a 14-day right to withdraw for any reason at all, the second does not run out in 14 days.
Your 14-day right to change your mind
You may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving any reason.
The 14 days run from the day you — or someone you named who is not the carrier — take physical possession of the goods. If your order came in several parcels, they run from the last one. For a gift card delivered by e-mail, they run from the day it was sent to you.
You do not need our permission, you do not need to explain, and we will not ask you why.
Telling us
Send us a clear statement that you are withdrawing, before the 14 days are up. E-mail info@shoppe.ee or write to Starmaker OÜ, Vana turg 1, 10140 Tallinn, Estonia. A sentence is enough — "I withdraw from order 1234" does it.
There is a model form at the bottom of this page if you would like to use one. You do not have to.
Mentioning your order number helps us find you quickly. Asking us first for a return reference speeds things up too — but neither is a condition of your right, and we will not refuse a return because you did not ask permission first.
Sending the goods back
Send the goods back without undue delay and in any case within 14 days of telling us. The deadline is met if you send them before it expires — what matters is the date you send, not the date they arrive.
Return address: Starmaker OÜ (registry code 10412838), Pilvetee tn 6, 12618 Tallinn, Estonia.
Note that this is not the registered address on your invoice — the shop is registered at Vana turg 1, 10140 Tallinn, Estonia, but the warehouse that receives returns is in Pilvetee. Sending a return to the registered address will get there eventually and slowly.
You can also bring them back in person, or use a parcel service. Put the order number in the parcel if you can.
Alcohol. Since alcohol is collected in person, the easiest way to return it is back across the same counter — Olde Hansa, Vana turg 1, Tallinn, 12–22. You may post it if you prefer, but that is between you and your carrier: carrying alcohol has rules of its own.
What a return costs
If you simply changed your mind, you pay the return carriage. That is the ordinary rule. If we offer you a paid return label, we will tell you its price before you use it and only deduct it if you agree.
If the goods were faulty, damaged before risk passed to you, or simply not what you ordered, we pay. Do not spend your own money on returning our mistake — ask us and we will arrange it.
Handling the goods before you send them back
You are welcome to unpack the goods and examine them as you would in a shop — look at them, handle them, check they work and that they are what you expected.
What you cannot do without consequence is use them beyond that. If handling that goes further than establishing the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods reduces their value, we may deduct that reduction from your refund. Any such deduction is proportionate and evidenced — we will tell you what we deducted and why. We do not apply flat penalties, and we do not use "the box was opened" as a reason on its own.
Keep the original packaging and use it if you reasonably can. It is not an absolute condition of your right, but it protects the goods on the way back, and damage in transit is a real reduction in value.
Your refund
We refund everything you paid for the withdrawn contract, including the standard delivery charge, no later than 14 days after we receive your withdrawal notice.
We may hold the refund until we have the goods back, or until you show us you have sent them — whichever happens first.
You get your money back by the same method you paid, unless you expressly agree otherwise. Either way, the refund costs you nothing. If you paid with a gift card, that part comes back to the gift card.
Two details worth knowing:
- If you chose a faster or more expensive delivery than our cheapest standard option, we refund the cost of the standard option — the extra you paid for speed is not refunded.
- If you return only part of an order, we refund what those goods actually cost after any discount that applied, and we refund delivery only to the extent it would have been cheaper had you ordered just the goods you kept. If an item was a free gift conditional on the purchase you are withdrawing from, please send it back too.
When the 14-day right does not apply
The law allows a few narrow exceptions, and we rely on them only where they genuinely apply and only where we told you before you ordered. We do not operate a blanket "no returns on food and drink" rule, because there is no such rule.
How it works across what we sell:
| What you bought | Can you withdraw? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Glassware, pottery, books | Yes | No exception applies. |
| Alcohol, unopened, seal intact | Yes | Not perishable and the seal is unbroken. That we cannot see how you stored it is not a legal ground to refuse. |
| Alcohol, opened | No | A sealed drink once opened cannot be returned for health-protection and hygiene reasons. |
| Food, unopened, seal intact, well within date | Yes | Our food is long-life; an unopened jar is not liable to deteriorate rapidly. |
| Food, opened | No | Same hygiene ground as above. |
| Food close to its date | Case by case | The exception is for goods genuinely liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. If it applies to a specific batch we say so on the product page before you buy. |
| Gift card, unused | Yes | Being delivered by e-mail does not remove the right. |
| Gift card, already spent | No | It has been redeemed; there is nothing left to withdraw from. A partly spent card can be withdrawn as to its unspent balance. |
You will notice "we cannot resell it" is not a reason anywhere in that table. It is not one.
Exchanges. There is no separate legal right to exchange. If it is easy we will often just do it; otherwise return the item for a refund and place a new order, which gets you there faster anyway.
Faulty, damaged or wrong goods
This is not the 14-day right and it is not limited to 14 days. If what arrived is faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, write to info@shoppe.ee.
You can claim for a defect that appears within two years of delivery, and for anything in the first year the law presumes it was our problem from the start. We may ask for photographs. We will arrange and pay for the return where a return is needed. Your rights to repair, replacement, a price reduction or cancellation and a refund all remain available.
Returning from outside the EU
We accept returns from outside the EU on the same terms. Two practical things make the difference between a smooth return and an expensive one:
- Mark the parcel as returned goods and quote the original order number on the customs paperwork, so it is not treated as a fresh commercial import into the EU.
- Ask us first and we will send you the exact wording, declared-value method and carrier instructions for your country.
If avoidable import charges arise because those instructions were not followed, we cannot absorb them, except where the law says otherwise. We will never ask you to declare a value that is not true.
Model withdrawal form
Use this only if you want to withdraw. You do not have to use it.
